His commitment is verbal and nonbinding, and will not be official until he signs a national letter of intent.
Wiley transferred from Silverado and was ineligible for the Jaguars last season. He figures to earn the bulk of the carries, and was the top running back in Nevada Preps’ annual position rankings.
A three-star recruit, Wiley had scholarship offers from Oregon, Utah, Arizona and Brigham Young, among others.
“He’s probably better than both (their RBs) last year,” a Mountain Region coach said. “He’s a 6-2, 205-pound, 4.4 running back who is being heavily recruited by schools like Oregon and Minnesota. He’s a big-time talent that we expect to have a breakout year.”
