Eric Parker sets state interception record in Spring Mountain victory

Eric Parker set a Class 1A state record with four interceptions for Spring Mountain’s football team Friday as the Golden Eagles rolled to a 74-12 home win over Round Mountain.
The Golden Eagles (4-1, 3-0 Class 1A Southern League) scored 54 points in the first quarter, and led 64-12 at halftime. Kamari Collins opened the scoring with a 24-yard TD run just 32 seconds into the game, then Dalvin Brown recovered a fumble in the end zone with 10:33 remaining in the first quarter.
Corvell Fisher was the only player to score twice, returning an interception 22 yards for a score in the first quarter, and catching a 77-yard TD pass in the third quarter.
The Knights fell to 0-6, 0-4.
