Gaels take control from start, roll past Spartans

Top-ranked Bishop (5-1, 2-0 Southwest League) controlled both sides of the ball and led 51-0 at halftime in beating host Cimarron-Memorial (3-3, 1-1) 54-3 on Friday.
Ryan Smith returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown and caught a 50-yard TD strike from Jarrett Solomon. Solomon added a 6-yard scoring pass to Robert Stanley, Nathan Starks ran for two touchdowns, Justin Sweet ran for a 5-yard TD and Dalton Baker returned an interception 35 yards for a score.
Gorman’s defense registered a safety and held Cimarron to 83 yards.
