Jackson’s big day helps Thunderbirds top Diamondbacks

Indian Springs' Devin Jackson rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries, caught four passes for 118 yards and a TD and returned a kickoff 78 yards for a score to lead the Thunderbirds (1-2, 1-0 Division IV Southern) to a 39-28 road win over Sandy Valley (1-1, 0-1) on Friday.
Jackson scored on a 23-yard pass from Troy Heath in the first quarter, brought back the second-half kickoff for a TD and had scoring runs of 48 and 55 yards after halftime.
Heath had 118 yards passing and 66 rushing. Mark Wilson added a 41-yard TD run for Indian Springs.
Jerremy Hall led Sandy Valley with 63 yards and two TDs on 12 carries. Lane Eastham rushed for 59 yards on seven carries, and connected with Matt Swaving twice for 49 yards and a TD.
