Johnson’s kick return gives Desert Shields win

Cheyenne's Xavian Johnson returned a kickoff 85 yards for a tiebreaking touchdown as time expired, lifting the Desert Shields (1-2, 1-1 Northwest) to a 16-10 road win over Shadow Ridge (0-2, 0-1) on Friday.
Jordan Butler rushed for 104 yards for Cheyenne, including a 52-yard touchdown in the third quarter on a run down the left side. That gave the Desert Shields a 10-7 lead.
Shadow Ridge led 7-3 at halftime, powered by an 8-yard TD run by Zak Hill. Cheyenne got a 25-yard field goal by Isaiah Henry.
Cheyenne’s Nchong Enokenwa had two sacks and Cordaryl Warren made an interception.
