Liberty OT Troy Fautanu chooses Washington

The top offensive lineman in the state has made his college choice.

Liberty senior tackle Troy Fautanu announced his commitment to the University of Washington vis Twitter on Thursday. Fautanu is the top football player in Southern Nevada, according to 247Sports and was named to last year’s all-state second team.

His commitment is nonbinding and Washington coaches cannot comment on him until he signs.


Fautanu had offers from 19 teams, including Oregon, Notre Dame, Southern California and UNLV, and is ranked as the No. 59 offensive tackle in the nation, according to 247Sports.

Liberty is 1-1 this season with a home game against No. 1 IMG Academy on Friday. Fautanu has helped the Patriots win the Sunrise Region the three years he has been on the varsity team.
