Locke, Saints hold off Agassi Prep

Ian Locke rushed for two touchdowns, including a 53-yard run for go-ahead score in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, as Mountain View's football team downed visiting Agassi Prep, 18-14 on Saturday.

Matthew Larson tacked on a 3-yard TD run with 6:31 left to give the Saints (2-1, 2-0 Division III Southern) an 18-8 lead. Larson finished with 131 yards on 24 carries, including 93 yards in the second half.

Locke had 104 yards on 13 carries.

“I thought we had good endurance in second half. We wanted to run the ball straight ahead and get (Matthew) Larson going,” said Mountain View coach Mike Valenzuela. “They isolated our spread offense. We had to make it a fight.”

Agassi Prep (3-1, 2-1) pulled within 18-14 on Kobe Williams’ 1-yard touchdown run with 2:31 left, but the Saints ran out the clock.

Williams had 63 yards on 15 carries, and Stephen Laushaul had a 2-yard TD run early in the second half for the Stars.
