Panthers crush Tonopah in rematch of 1A state title game

Pahranagat Valley's Cody Hosier tossed three touchdown passes and ran for a score as the Panthers (4-0, 2-0 1A Southern League) turned the rematch of last year’s Class 1A state title game into a laugher, beating host Tonopah 58-8 on Friday.
Hosier completed 8 of 12 passes for 147 yards, including TD tosses of 40 yards to Chase Hansen, 33 yards to Kale Leavitt and 35 yards to Tyler Higbee.
Hansen added scoring runs of 7 and 5 yards as the Panthers built a 52-0 halftime lead and cruised to the win.
Dustin Poulsen returned a fumble 70 yards for a score for Pahranagat Valley, which held the Muckers to 24 total yards.
Tonopah (0-4, 0-1) scored in the fourth quarter on a 65-yard pass from Cody Serfoss to Maurice Kennedy.
