Pioneers hold Rams to negative yards, roll to win

Seventh-ranked Canyon Springs (4-2, 2-0 Northeast) held the Rancho (0-6, 0-2) to minus-5 yards of offense on the way to a 51-0 road victory on Friday.

Nigel Perry ran for two touchdowns for Canyon Springs, including a 66-yarder to open the second half. Donnel Pumphrey added 51 yards rushing.

Joe Jackson threw for 79 yards, including a 30-yard touchdown to Diamante Luna in the fourth quarter to put the Pioneers up by 51.

Tobias Carson also recovered a Rancho fumble and took it 40 yards to the end zone to extend Canyon Springs’ lead.

Tuilealatasi Taoipu led Rancho with 28 yards rushing.
