RECRUITING: Gorman teammates decommit, head to UNLV

UNLV’s football program scored two more locals late Tuesday night.

Bishop Gorman’s Marc Philippi switched his commitment from New Mexico to UNLV, the senior safety/linebacker announced on Twitter. Meanwhile, Rivals.com reported Gorman senior offensive guard Ron Scoggins also switched from New Mexico to UNLV.

Signing day is Wednesday.

Prior to Tuesday’s news, the only local recruit committed to UNLV was Basic senior offensive tackle J’Ondray Sanders.

Three members of Gorman's signing class have now switched their original commitments. Defensive end/linebacker Zach Hutchins was originally committed to San Jose State before giving his recent pledge to Montana State.
