Salas scores to lift Railroaders over Muckers

Chris Salas scored on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter to lift Carlin to a 34-28 win at Tonopah on Friday.

Salas rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. He also scored on an 18-yard interception return in the second quarter.

His fourth-quarter TD run and ensuing two-point conversion run lifted the Railroaders out of a 28-26 deficit.

Tonopah (0-1) had taken a 28-26 lead on a 44-yard field goal by Denver Otteson.

Otteson carried 16 times for 112 yards and one TD and caught eight passes for 81 yards and another score to lead the Muckers.
