Smith guides Mustangs over Grizzlies

Shadow Ridge's Bakari Smith rushed for two touchdowns and passed for 177 yards and another score Friday to guide the Mustangs (2-6, 2-2 Northwest) to a 35-14 road win over Spring Valley (2-6, 0-4).

Smith’s 10-yard keeper capped a 14-play, 80-yard drive to put Shadow Ridge up 14-7 at halftime. He led a 90-yard drive to open the third quarter that ended with his 7-yard TD run.

Smith also threw a 32-yard TD pass to J Henderson, and Ryan Johnson scored on a 66-yard run as the Mustangs outgained the Grizzlies, 399-171.

Spring Valley’s Brant Berglund ran for a 6-yard score and had a 15-yard TD pass to Christian Tasi.
