Tenth-ranked Cougars topple Vikings

Coronado's Wyatt Bartle forced two fumbles, recovered another and recorded a safety as the No. 10 Cougars (2-0) shut out visiting Valley (0-2) 65-0 on Friday.

Coronado’s defense allowed only 34 yards, forced five turnovers and recorded two safeties.

Trevor Spina gained 63 yards on the ground and scored three touchdowns to lead the Cougars offense.

Kevin Lucero completed 7 of 13 passes for 173 yards with a touchdown.

Jackson Cofer gained 85 total yards, including 64 receiving, and scored a touchdown.
