Thomas accounts for seven scores as Spring Mountain rolls

Spring Mountain's Marcus Thomas ran for three touchdowns and threw four TD passes to guide the Golden Eagles (5-1, 3-1 Division IV Southern) to a 60-14 home win over Sandy Valley (1-4, 0-3) on Friday.

Thomas scored on runs of 20, 64 and 65 yards. He hooked up with Dwayne James on scoring strikes of 55 and 18 yards to help Spring Mountain build a 46-6 halftime lead. James also made two interceptions.

Thomas also threw TD passes of 23 yards to Bruce Travis-Collins and 39 to Isaiah Brooks. Ashley Christmas added a 65-yard TD run.

For Sandy Valley, Darby Wadley had a 1-yard TD run and a 50-yard touchdown pass to Jerremy Hall.
