2A Golf: Veronica Joels wins individual crown, guides The Meadows to region title

Veronica Joels carded a 9-over-par 81 at Canyon Gate on Wednesday to earn the individual title and help The Meadows capture the team crown in the Class 2A Southern League boys golf tournament.

Kevin Inthachack added an 82 for the Mustangs, who finished with a team total of 346. Lake Mead was second at 365. Needles and Tonopah both finished at 416, but Needles won a fifth-score tiebreaker to earn the third and final state qualifying berth.

White Pine’s Collin Young was third individually with am 83.

Lake Mead’s Marcus Dolinar took fourth with an 83.

Young, Tonopah’s Damion Pace and Kevin Pope and West Wendover’s Kaden Peterson and Ben Holloway earned the individual berths to the state tournament, which begins May 16 in Boulder City.
