2A STATE: Lake Mead’s Brooks finishes in third place

Lake Mead’s Quayd Brooks carded a 6-over-par 77 at Rivers Edge in Needles, Calif. on Tuesday to place third in the Class 2A boys state golf tournament.

Brooks had a 36-hole total of 150 and tied Incline’s Jordan Wright for second, but technically finished third on a scorecard playoff.

White Pine’s Ty Pickel shot 74 on Tuesday and was the individual winner with a 148 total. Mountain View’s Keith Flowers finished fourth at 153.

Whittell won the team competition with a score of 833, nine strokes better than Needles. White Pine was third at 847, followed by The Meadows at 850.
