3A STATE: Virgin Valley’s Baeza takes commanding lead

Virgin Valley’s Ryan Baeza carded a 3-under-par 69 at Boulder Creek in Boulder City on Monday to take a commanding six-stroke lead in the Class 3A state boys golf tournament.

Boulder City’s Luke Logan shot 75 and is alone in second place with Elko’s Danny Nelson one stroke back at 76.

Lowry leads the team competition with a score of 398. Elko is second at 409, followed by Boulder City at 430 and Spring Creek at 442.

The final round is Tuesday at Boulder City Golf Course.
