Arbor View’s Thomas wins Pahrump Valley Invitational title

Arbor View’s Van Thomas carded a 3-under-par 69 at Mountain Falls on Friday to win the individual title in the Pahrump Valley Invitational boys golf tournament.

Thomas had a two-round total of 4-under 140, seven strokes better than Bishop Gorman’s Owen Rosebeck.

Gorman’s Christian James, Palo Verde’s Jack Trent, and Austin Murphy of Bellarmine-Jefferson (Calif.) tied for third at 149.

Bellarmine-Jefferson won the team title, rallying from a three-stroke deficit after Thursday’s first round.

The Guards had a total of 604 strokes, one better than Gorman. First-round leader Arbor View was third at 609. Palo Verde (618) and Coronado (633) rounded out the top five.
