BOYS GOLF: Coronado grabs first-round lead at Southern Nevada Invitational

Dylan Fritz, Benjamin Sawaia and Brett Sodetz each shot 5-over-par 77 on Tuesday to help Coronado’s boys golf team take the lead after the first round of the Southern Nevada Invitational at Southern Highlands.
The Cougars finished at 313 and own a seven-shot lead over Bellarmine College Prep (California), which finished at 320.
Faith Lutheran is third at 334, followed by Palo Verde (343) and Arbor View (348).
Faith Lutheran’s Charlie Magruder carded a 76 and shares the individual lead with Bellarmine’s Austin Murphy.
Arbor View’s Hazen Newman fired a 77 and shares third place with the three Coronado golfers.
Boulder City claims Sunrise match
Kyler Atkinson shot 5-over 77 to earn medalist honors and lead Boulder City to a win in a Class 3A Sunrise League match at CasaBlanca Golf Club in Mesquite.
The Eagles had five of the top six finishers and posted a score of 432. Moapa Valley was second at 552, followed by Tech (618) and Del Sol (645).
Boulder City’s Jackson Wright was third at 86, followed by teammates Cade Neilson (88), Samu Jancuk (89) and Aaron Walker (92).
Hogan Fowles of Virgin Valley was second after an 81.
