BOYS GOLF: Palo Verde edges Faith Lutheran in Northwest League match

Jack Trent shot 2-under-par 70 on Wednesday to help Palo Verde’s boys golf team win a Northwest League match at Highland Falls.

The Panthers had three of the top six finishers and posted a 376 total to edge second-place Faith Lutheran (381).

Arbor View’s Cameron Gambini shot 69 to claim medalist honors.

Michael Salemo carded a 73 for Palo Verde to finish third, and teammate Cole Wilzcek shot 75.

Tyler Smerz and Nick Nigro each shot 74 to lead Faith Lutheran.

BOULDER CITY TOPS BASIC

At Black Mountain, Jackson Wright and Kyler Atkinson each shot 41 to share medalist honors and help Boulder City to a 220-253 victory over Basic.

Cade Nielsen of Boulder City shot 45 to finish third, and teammate Kevin Phelps shot 46 to finish fourth.

Gavin Mangan led the Wolves with a 47.
