Coronado’s Brett Sodetz leads after first round of Southern Nevada Invitational

Coronado’s Brett Sodetz shot a 1-over-par 72 at SouthShore Country Club on Monday to grab the lead at the midway point of the Southern Nevada Invitational.

Thirteen other players are within five shots of the lead entering Tuesday’s final round.

Faith Lutheran’s Tyler Smerz and Palo Verde’s Michael Salerno each shot 73 to join Will Meinhardt of Bellarmine (California) in a tie for second. Bellarmine’s Justin Polk and Arbor View’s Cameron Gambini are tied for fifth after shooting 74.

Coronado leads the team standings with an 18-hole total of 301, two strokes better than Bellarmine. Faith Lutheran is third at 314, Wilson (California) is fourth at 317 and Foothill is fifth at 321.
