Darland, McInerney both one shot back at Junior Open

Coronado’s Tad Darland and A.J. McInerney are tied for second after the second round of the Las Vegas Junior Open on Wednesday at Anthem Country Club.

Darland and McInerney each sit at 3-over-par 147 after two rounds, one shot behind leader Tad Murray of La Quinta, Calif.

Darland shot 2-under 70 on Wednesday to move into second. McInerney was one shot off the lead after Tuesday’s first round, and shot 73 on Wednesday.

Murray posted the tournament’s best round on Wednesday with a 3-under 69 to take the lead after coming in at 77 on Tuesday.

Joseph Stewart of Palm Desert, Calif., also is tied for second at 147.

In the girls division, Tessa The of Los Altos, Calif., has a one-shot lead at 10-over 152.

The tournament concludes on Thursday.
