DIVISION I-A GOLF: Logan, Eagles lead at midway point of region tourney

Luke Logan carded a 1-under-par 71 at Boulder City Golf Course on Tuesday to grab the lead after the first round of the Division I-A Southern Region boys golf tournament.

Logan, a sophomore, has a six-stroke lead over teammate T.J. Hatfield entering the final round Wednesday at Mountain Falls Golf Club.

Boulder City also leads the team competition with a score of 405. Faith Lutheran is four strokes behind, and Pahrump Valley is third at 478.

All three teams and the top five individuals from non-qualifying teams will advance to next week’s state meet.

Faith Lutheran’s Dallas Haun and Virgin Valley’s Kadan Atkin each shot 78, and Faith Lutheran’s A.J. Johnson fired an 80.

The Sunrise Region and Sunset Region meets, which began Monday, also conclude today at Mountain Falls.
