DIVISION III GOLF: Onufrieff leads The Meadows to title

Ian Onufrieff carded a 1-over-par 72 at River’s Edge on Wednesday to finish third overall and help The Meadows boys golf team win the Division III Southern Region Tournament.

The Mustangs and White Pine each shot 415, but The Meadows won the tournament based on the sixth-golfer tiebreaker. Needles took third at 423, followed by Lake Mead at 435.

The top three teams and top five individuals from non-qualifying teams advance to next week’s state tournament.

White Pine’s Ty Pickel was the individual champion with a 71.

Lake Mead’s Quayde Brooks nipped Onufrieff on a scorecard playoff for second place.

Calvary Chapel’s Anthony Millici shot 73 to take fourth, and Lake Mead’s Victor Banos was fifth with a 74.

Brooks, Millici and Banos all qualify for state along with Mountain View’s Keith Flowers (77) and Calvary Chapel’s Conner Harris (90).
