GOLF: Boulder City’s Ulibarri makes hole-in-one, leads Eagles to win

Hunter Ulibarri had a hole-in-one and earned medalist honors with a 1-over-par 72 at River’s Edge on Thursday to lead Boulder City’s boys golf team to victory in an 11-team match.
Ulibarri aced the 150-yard fifth hole in helping the Eagles to a team score of 398, four strokes better than host Needles. Virgin Valley was third at 435.
Luke Logan added a 74 for Boulder City.
Needles’ Destry Phillips and Las Vegas High’s Trey Jensen each shot 74.
Cougars take Southeast match
At Black Mountain, Grant McKay shot par 72 to lead Coronado to victory in a Southeast League match.
The Cougars had a team score of 384, seven shots ahead of second-place Foothill.
Basic shot 409, and Green Valley was fourth at 417.
Foothill’s Andrew Chu was the medalist with a 71. Eldorado’s Ryan Manganello and Green Valley’s Mason Comastro tied for third at 74, and Coronado’s Aaron Knief was fifth at 75.
Arbor View rolls in Northwest
At Paiute, Arbor View took six of the top seven spots en route to an easy win in a Northwest League match.
Van Thomas was the match medalist with a 3-under 69, and teammate Sam Dickey was second at 70 for the Aggies, who shot 370 as a team.
Desert Oasis’ Syouta Wakisaka was third at 71, followed by Arbor View’s Cameron Gambini (75), Ethan Bozner (78), Cole Christensen (78) and Tyler Branton (80).
Centennial finished second at 440, and Desert Oasis was third at 445.
