GOLF: Crusaders easily take Sunset match at Siena

Faith Lutheran had five golfers break 80 to easily win a Sunset League match at Siena on Thursday.

Charlie Magruder shot par 72 to lead the Crusaders, who finished with a team score of 380.

Dallas Haun added a 75 for Faith Lutheran, and Andrew Johnson (76), Mitch Conley (78), Greg Price (79) and Trenton May (80) all finished in the top 10 for the Crusaders.

Pahrump Valley’s Austen Ancell was the medalist with a 71.

Sierra Vista’s George Kim tied Magruder for second at 72, and Western’s Raymond Falkensteinn shot 76 to tie Johnson for fifth.

Pahrump was second in the team standings with 427, followed by Spring Valley (458) and Sierra Vista (523).

Patriots claim Northeast match

At Revere, Jayrick Cadelina-Canyete shot 10-over 82 to help Liberty to victory in a Northeast League match.

The Patriots shot 447 as a team to edge second-place Silverado (454).

Las Vegas High’s Trey Jensen was the medalist with a 73.

Silverado’s Thomas Kirchner and Matthew McClure shot 79 and 80, respectively. Liberty’s Patrick Dao rounded out the top five with an 87.
