GOLF: Gaels edge Panthers in Southwest League match

Tyler Martinez and Christian James each shot 3-over-par 75 at Painted Desert on Tuesday to lead Bishop Gorman’s boys golf team to victory in a Southwest League match.

The Gaels finished with a team score of 402, four strokes ahead of second-place Palo Verde. Shadow Ridge was third at 440.

Palo Verde’s Cameron Meeks and Jack Trent each shot 72 to share medalist honors.

Shadow Ridge’s Tanner Johnson shot 77.

Aggies take Northwest meet

At Paiute, Ethan Bozner shot 6-over 78 to help Arbor View win a Northwest League match.

The Aggies, who also got an 81 from Cameron Gambini, had a team score of 415. Centennial was second at 449, followed by Desert Oasis at 484.

The Diamondbacks’ Syouta Wakisaka was the medalist with a 75.

Jensen tops field in Northeast match

At Las Vegas National, Las Vegas’ Trey Jensen shot 5-over 76 to claim medalist honors in a Northeast League match.

Liberty won the team title with 530, six strokes ahead of Silverado. Las Vegas was third at 540.

Silverado’s Thomas Kirchner shot 84, and teammate Matthew McClure carded an 87.
