GOLF: Gorman boys take four of top five spots, win Southwest match

Dylan Garrett carded a 2-over-par 74 at Aliante on Wednesday, and Bishop Gorman’s boys put four golfers in the top five to win a Southwest League match.

The Gaels had a team score of 385. Centennial was second at 425, followed by Desert Oasis at 465 and Bonanza at 482.

Bonanza’s Alex Jordan was the medalist with a 72.

Anthony Lalli shot 75, and Christian James added a 76 for Gorman, which also got a 77 from Frank Frisbee.

Cougars take Southeast match

At Wildhorse, Michael Alvarez carded a 2-under 68, and teammate Bradley Keyer shot 69 to help Coronado capture a Southeast League match.

The Cougars, who also got a 71 from Michael Kirby, shot 360 to beat Foothill by nine strokes. Basic was third at 442, followed by Liberty at 455.

Foothill’s Taylor Montgomery was the medalist with a 65.

Eldorado’s Ryan Manganello shot 71.

Eagles claim Sunrise match

At The Palms, Luke Logan carded a 3-over 75 to share medalist honors and help Boulder City to a victory in a Sunrise League match.

The Eagles had a team score of 409. Needles was second at 419, followed by Virgin Valley (475) and Moapa Valley (485).

Needles’ Zarek Phillips also shot 75, and Virgin Valley’s Kadan Atkin carded a 76.
