GOLF: Magruder blisters back nine, leads Faith Lutheran to Sunset League win

Charlie Magruder carded a 5-under-par 67 on Wednesday to earn medalist honors and help Faith Lutheran’s boys golf team win a Sunset League match at Mountain Falls.

Magruder was even-par on the front nine, but went 5-under on the back nine.

Greg Price and Jared Ramsay each added a 75 for the Crusaders, who shot 378 as a team. Pahrump Valley was second at 428, followed by Clark at 470 and Sierra Vista at 500.

Clark’s Arpepanya Phonsavanh shot 73.

Atkinson, Eagles win Sunrise League match

At The Palms, Kyler Atkinson carded a 2-over 74 to earn medalist honors and help Boulder City win a Sunrise League match.

The Eagles, who also got a 77 from Cade Neilson, shot 422 as a team. Needles was second at 455, followed by Moapa Valley at 527.

Moapa Valley’s Jacob Causey shot 79.

Tech’s Deylin Lees and Virgin Valley’s Hogan Fowles each shot 81.
