GOLF: McEachern shoots 1-under as Gaels roll to Southwest win

Bryce McEachern carded a 1-under-par 71 at Canyon Gate on Monday to help Bishop Gorman’s boys golf team win a Southwest League match.

The Gaels, who had all five scoring golfers shoot 75 or better, had a team score of 368. Centennial was second at 447, followed by Desert Oasis at 482.

Blake Taylor added a 73, and Owen Rosebeck shot 74 for Gorman, which got 75s from Christian James and Frank Frisbee.

Cimarron-Memorial’s Brandon Smith shot 72.

Panthers take Northwest meet

At Siena, Caden Henderson shot 3-over 75, and teammate Brandon Bauman added a 76 to help Palo Verde win a Northwest League match.

The Panthers had a team score of 393. Arbor View was second at 413, followed by Shadow Ridge with 416 and Spring Valley with 431.

Shadow Ridge’s Ben Davis was the medalist with a 72.

Arbor View’s Sam Dickey shot 73, and teammate Van Thomas added a 76. Sierra Vista’s George Kim shot 75.

Eagles top Falcons

At Boulder Creek, Luke Logan and Kyler Atkinson each shot 1-over 37 to lead Boulder City to a 196-202 win over Foothill.

Foothill’s Andrew Chu was the medalist with a 35, and teammate Hayden Munns shot 37.
