GOLF: McKay, Cougars edge Falcons at Legacy

Grant McKay shot an even-par 72 at Legacy on Tuesday to help Coronado win a Southeast League match.

The Cougars had a team score of 402, four strokes better than Foothill. Green Valley was third at 407, followed by Basic at 426.

Foothill’s Andrew Chu was the medalist with a 68.

Green Valley’s Ty Klabacka shot 76.

Palo Verde tops Mustangs

At Painted Desert, Bradley Collet earned medalist honors with a 1-over 37 and led Palo Verde to a 203-214 win over Shadow Ridge.

Joseph Ender and Cameron Meeks each added a 40 for the Panthers.

Tanner Johnson shot 38, and Noah Valentine had a 39 for the Mustangs.

James leads Centennial in victory

At Paiute, Joshua James shot a 2-over 38 to lead Centennial past Bonanza.

The Bulldogs had a team score of 211. Bonanza did not field a full team.

Jason Frerickson added a 41, and Dillon Gault shot 42 for Centennial.
