GOLF: Mustangs’ Johnson shoots 4-under in Southwest League match

Shadow Ridge’s Tanner Johnson shot a 4-under-par 67 at TPC Las Vegas on Tuesday to earn medalist honors in a Southwest League match.

Johnson was 6-under through 15 holes, but bogeyed the final two holes.

Palo Verde’s Jack Trent shot 68.

Gorman’s Mitchell Abbott shot 71.

Palo Verde won the team competition with a score of 364. Gorman was second at 390, followed by Shadow Ridge at 439.

Silverado wins Northeast League match

At Revere, Matthew McClure and Thomas Kirchner each shot a 3-over 75 to help Silverado to victory in a Northeast League match.

The Skyhawks had a team score of 431, 11 strokes better than second-place Liberty. Canyon Springs was third at 594, followed by Las Vegas at 603.

Liberty’s Jayrick Cadelina-Canyete was the medalist with a 73.

Coronado captures Southeast League match

At Chimera Golf Club, Ethan Bozner shared medalist honors with a 1-under 71 and helped Coronado win a Southeast League match.

The Cougars, who got a 72 from Dylan Fritz and 73s from Grant McKay and Joey Dotta, had a team score of 363. Foothill was second at 395, followed by Green Valley at 448 and Basic at 514.

Green Valley’s Ty Klabacka and Eldorado’s Matt Manganello also shot 71.
