GOLF: Tuls, Crusaders top Mustangs at Canyon Gate

J.R. Tuls shot a 2-over-par 38 at Canyon Gate on Thursday to lead Faith Lutheran’s boys golf team to a 201-220 win over Shadow Ridge.

Charlie Magruder added a 39 for the Crusaders.

Tanner Johnson shot 39 for the Mustangs.

McKay, Cougars down Green Valley

At Anthem, Grant McKay took medalist honors with a 1-over-37 to lead Coronado to a 206-220 win over Green Valley.

Hayden Baird added a 41 for the Cougars.

Mason Comastro shot 40, and Jeffrey Mullins added a 41 for the Gators.

Centennial tops Spartans

At Paiute, Joshua James shot a 4-over 40 to help Centennial to a 227-270 win over Cimarron-Memorial.

Alec Vega added a 41 for the Bulldogs.

Cimarron’s Brandon Smith was the medalist with a 34.

Needles wins six-team meet

At Mountain Falls, Dakota Masters-Mejia shot a 9-over-81 to lead Needles to victory in a six-team match.

The Mustangs had a team score of 441. Pahrump Valley was second with 452, six strokes better than Desert Oasis.

Desert Oasis’ Syouta Wakisaka was the medalist with a 79.

Boulder City’s Kyler Atkinson shot 80.
