Jack Trent helps Palo Verde claim Pahrump Valley Invite title

Palo Verde’s Jack Trent fired a five-under par 67 on Friday to help the Panthers capture the team title at the Pahrump Valley Invitational at Mountain Falls.

Palo Verde and Bellarmine College Prep (California) each finished with a two-day score of 586, but the Panthers won the tiebreaker based on the aggregate score of their fifth golfer.

Trent finished with a two-day score of 139 to finish second individually. Bellarmine’s Eddie Lai birdied three of the final four holes to shoot 67 and win the individual title at 137.

Bellarmine’s Austin Murphy was third at 142, followed by Pahrump Valley’s Austin Ancell (144) and Palo Verde’s Michael Salemo (147).

Palo Verde’s Cole Wilczek, who was the leader with a 68 after the first round, shot 81 Friday and finished ninth.

Harker (California) was third in the team standings at 303. Bellarmine’s junior varsity was fourth at 322, and Foothill finished fifth at 326.
