James, Gaels capture Southwest League match

Christian James carded a 1-under-par 71 at Canyon Gate on Tuesday to lead Bishop Gorman’s golf team to victory in a Southwest League match.

Gorman, which also got a 72 from Frank Frisbee and 76s from both Ben Schlichting and Bryce McEachern, had a team score of 373. Desert Oasis was second at 443, eight strokes better than Centennial.

Desert Oasis’ Niko Gonnella shot 77.

Eagles top Falcons

At Boulder Creek, Luke Logan shot 1-over 37 to help Boulder City to a 205-214 win over Foothill.

Kyle Effertz added a 38 for the Eagles.

Andrew Chu shot 38 for Foothill.

Sky Pointe's Drake Harvey is a member of the Nevada Preps All-Southern Nevada boys golf team.
