ROUNDUP: Cougars post Southwest win on McInerney’s 66

Coronado’s A.J. McInerney shot 6-under-par 66 on Tuesday to lead the Cougars to victory in a Southeast League match at Black Mountain.

Matt Welch added a 72 for the Cougars, who shot 360 as a team. Green Valley finished second at 415, and Silverado shot 466.

Foothill’s Taylor Montgomery was third individually at 73. Coronado’s Tad Darland, Christian Pate and Jimmy Burris each shot 74.

Trojans storm to win at Southwest match
At Siena, Pahrump Valley’s Elliott Owens carded a 4-over 76 to lead the Trojans to victory in a Southwest League match.

Pahrump shot 409, followed by Sierra Vista and Spring Valley, which both shot 428.

Desert Oasis’s Soungjae Baek tied Owens for medalist honors. Sierra Vista’s Jake Pinney shot 77 to place third, and Desert Oasis’s Steve Kennedy was fourth with a 78.
