Roundup: Gaels win Southwest League match

Ryan Rasmussen and Mitchell Abbott each shot 2-over-par 74 at Bear’s Best on Thursday to share medalist honors and lead the Bishop Gorman boys golf team to victory in a Southwest League match.

The Gaels, who placed their four scoring golfers inside the top five, had a team total of 306. Sierra Vista was second at 338. Desert Oasis took third at 386, followed by Bonanza (395) and Clark (406).

Aarjav Patel and Skyler Ngo each added a 79 for Gorman.

Bonanza’s Baylee Osborne was third individually with a 78.

Boulder City wins Sunrise match

At Boulder Creek, Blake Schaper earned medalist honors with a 10-over 82 and helped Boulder City to victory in a Sunrise League match.

The Eagles placed their four scoring golfers inside the top five and finished with a team total of 348. Virgin Valley was second at 389. Chaparral took third at 432, followed by Sky Pointe (447) and Moapa Valley (451).

Kevin Phelps added an 84 for Boulder City. Dustin Landerman shot 90 for the Eagles, and teammate Kyle Carducci had a 92.

Virgin Valley’s Jeron Dalton was third individually at 88.
