ROUNDUP: McInerney, Coronado roll to Southeast League win

Freshman A.J. McInerney carded a 1-under-par 71 to take medalist honors and lead the Coronado boys golf team to a victory in a Southeast League match at Legacy Golf Club on Tuesday.

The Cougars recorded a 384, easily ahead of Green Valley (403), Foothill (467), Basic (473), Silverado (489) and Del Sol (574).

Coronado had four of the top five individual finishers, including Kevin Stratton (74), Tad Darland (78) and Jimmy Burris (78).

Green Valley’s Ryan Green was third with a 75.

Bulldogs win Northwest League Match
At Painted Desert, Brad Rowland shot 4-over 76 to help Centennial (418) edge Palo Verde (421).

Arbor View (474) was third, followed by Shadow Ridge (503), Legacy (512) and Cimarron-Memorial (519).

Individually, Arbor View’s Zane Thomas and Palo Verde’s Errek McClellan shared medalist honors with a 75.

They were followed by Rowland, Palo Verde’s Kyle Melchiorre (78) and Cimarron’s Tyler Spitler (81).

Sierra Vista edges Las Vegas
At Desert Rose, Sierra Vista’s Jacob Pinny carded a 1-over 36 to help the Mountain Lion defeat Las Vegas, 214-219.

Las Vegas’ Ray Gillip shot 34 to take medalist honors.
