Roundup: Mitchell Abbott helps Gorman boys win Southwest League match

Mitchell Abbott carded a 1-over-par 73 at Spanish Trail on Tuesday to earn a share of medalist honors and help Bishop Gorman’s boys golf team to victory in a Southwest League match.

Spring Valley’s Adonis LeBlue tied Abbott at 73.

Joseph Williams added a 74 for the Gaels, and teammate Aarjav Patel shot 75.

Gorman finished with a team score of 298. Sierra Vista was second at 322, followed by Desert Oasis at 327 and Spring Valley at 370.

Coronado defeats Arbor View

At Anthem, Benjamin Sawaia earned medalist honors with a 2-under 34 and help Coronado to a 151-181 win over Arbor View.

Joey Dotta added a 37, and Brett Sodetz shot 39 for the Cougars.

Cameron Gambini led the Aggies with a 37, and teammate Preston Harris shot 39.

Pahrump Valley wins Sunset match

At The Club at Sunrise, Pahrump Valley placed all six of its golfers among the top eight finishers to easily win a Sunset League match.

Michael McDougall led the Trojans and finished third overall with a 15-over 87. Koby Lindberg added an 88, and Craig Moore shot 89 for Pahrump, which finished with a team total of 358. Mojave was second at 437, followed by Western at 446 and Desert Pines at 532.

Western’s Jared Smith earned medalist honors with a 72. Mojave’s Marcus Mullins finished second at 77.
