ROUNDUP: Montgomery allows Falcons to take first-day lead

Taylor Montgomery shot even-par 72 on Monday to help Foothill’s boys golf team take the lead after the first day of the Pahrump Valley Invitational at Mountain Falls.

Foothill carded a team score of 302, edging Palo Verde (305), Pahrump Valley (307) and Desert Oasis (310).

Desert Oasis’ Soungjae Baek and Pahrump’s Elliott Owens each carded a 71 to share the opening-round lead.

Pahrump’s Dorian Patel and Palo Verde’s Dillon Dudley added a 72 apiece.
