ROUNDUP: Nanar leads way as Cougars take Southeast match

Kabir Nanar shot 5-under-par 65 to take medalist honors and lead Coronado’s boys golf team to victory Wednesday in a Southeast League match at Wildhorse.

Coronado posted 356 as a team, followed by Foothill at 374 and Green Valley at 403.

Foothill’s Taylor Montgomery was second with a 1-under 69, and Coronado’s A.J. McInerney took third at 70.

Gorman claims Southwest match
At Highland Falls, Dylan Garrett shot 7-over-par 79 to help Bishop Gorman to victory in a Southwest League match with a score of 421.

Pahrump Valley (434) was second and Desert Oasis (451) finished third.

Pahrump’s Dorian Patel shot 74 to earn medalist honors. Bonanza’s Alex Jordan was second at 77.

Bulldogs capture 3A Southern meet
At Mesquite, Ryan Baeza shared medalist honors with a 3-over 74 at The Palms to lead Virgin Valley to a win in a Class 3A Southern League match.

The Bulldogs, who also got a 77 from Brandon Cohen and a 78 from Tyler Hughes, had a team score of 394. Moapa Valley was second at 427, followed by Boulder City at 443 and Needles with a 487.

Moapa Valley’s Cody Kelly also shot 74.
