ROUNDUP: Palo Verde captures Northwest League match

Kyle Melchiorre and Errek McClellan each shot par 72 Wednesday to lead Palo Verde to victory in a Northwest League match at Paiute Sun.
The Panthers finished at 384, 13 strokes ahead of second-place Centennial.
Arbor View (412) was third, followed by Cimarron-Memorial (467) and Shadow Ridge (473).
Centennial’s Greg Kerber shot 76, and teammate James Newman carded a 77.
Arbor View’s Mark Agustin also shot 77.

Bonanza wins Southwest League meet
At Angel Park, Yongsoo Shin shared medalist honors with a 3-over 74 and was one of three Bonanza golfers in the top five as the Bengals won a Southwest League match.

Minsoo Kim and John Milne each carded a 75 for the Bengals, who had a team score of 387. Bishop Gorman (405) was second, followed by Pahrump Valley (407).
Desert Oasis’ Steven Kennedy and Gorman’s Rod Bigelow each shot 74.

Gillip, Las Vegas win Northeast match
At Desert Pines, Ray Gillip shot 2-under 69 to lead Las Vegas to a victory in a Northeast League match.

The Wildcats had a team score of 421. Desert Pines was second at 503 and Rancho third at 597.
Desert Pines’ Josh Nichols shot 72, and Eldorado’s Giovanni Latty carded a 75.

Needles wins 2A League Match
At Rivers Edge, Cullen Pottmeyer and Shane East both shot 11-over 82 to lead host Needles to a win in a Class 2A Southern League meet.

Needles carded a 430 as a team, followed by Lake Mead (499) and Mountain View (538).
Lake Mead’s Joey Velasquez took medalist honors at 78, followed by Pottmeyer and East.
