ROUNDUP: Sikorski leads Gorman to Southwest League win

Bishop Gorman’s Nick Sikorski carded a 1-over-par 73 at Mountain Falls on Thursday to help the Gaels win a Southwest League match.

Gorman had a team score of 412. Bonanza and Pahrump Valley each shot 417.

Sierra Vista’s Jacob Pinney shared medalist honors with Sikorski, also carding a 73. Desert Oasis’ Jay Singharath shot a 75.

Coronado downs Green Valley
At Anthem, Green Valley’s Ryan Green carded a 1-over 36 to earn medalist honors, but the Gators fell to the Cougars.

A.J. McInerney led Coronado with a 38. Kevin Stratton added a 39.

Battle Mountain wins 2A match
At Round Mountain Golf Course, Matt Newguard carded a 4-over-par 75 to lead Battle Mountain to a win at a Class 2A nonleague match.

Battle Mountain won with a team score of 422, followed by White Pine (481), Round Mountain (486) and Tonopah (547).

Tonopah’s Denver Otteson was the medalist with a round of 69. He was followed by West Wendover’s Will Doudy (71), Newguard, Battle Mountain’s Trevor Jones (78) and Round Mountain’s Clint Wilson (80).
