ROUNDUP: Top three scores not enough as Desert Oasis boys finish second to Pahrump

Desert Oasis’ boys golf team had four of the top six individual scorers in a second-place finish Monday at the Southwest League meet at Canyon Gate.
Pahrump Valley, led by Elliot Owens and Shane Lindemann who both shot 5-over-par 77, won the meet with a score of 403. The Diamondbacks were second at 421, followed by Spring Valley (449).
Desert Oasis’ Stephen Kennedy took medalist honors with a 74. Teammates Soungjae Baek and Niko Gonnella each carded a 76, and Jay Singharath added a 77 for Desert Oasis.

Centennial takes Northwest League meet

Justin Palmquist shot a 5-over 77 on Monday at Painted Desert to help Centennial capture a Northwest League meet.
The Bulldogs, who also added rounds of 80 from Ben Newman and Greg Kerber, finished with a team score of 403. Palo Verde (415) was second and Faith Lutheran (429) finished third.
The Crusaders’ Yuki Kato was the medalist with a 3-over 75.
Dillon Dudley led Palo Verde with a 79.
 
Tonopah falls
Denver Otteson finished second with a 6-over 42, but Tonopah suffered a 250-293 loss to Bishop (Calif.) at Bishop Country Club.
