Sierra Vista wins Southwest match on tiebreaker

Fred Kim carded a 1-over-par 73 at Mountain Falls on Monday as Sierra Vista’s golf team captured a Southwest League meet.

The Mountain Lions, Pahrump Valley and Desert Oasis all finished with a team score of 416, one stroke better than fourth-place Bishop Gorman.

Sierra Vista’s sixth-man score of 92 won the tiebreaker for first. Pahrump’s sixth golfer shot 106, and Desert Oasis’ sixth man carded a 108.

Pahrump’s Dorian Patel was the medalist with a 71, and teammate Elliott Owens shot 74.

Desert Oasis got a 73 from Soungjae Baek and a 74 from Jay Singharath.
