Outlook: The Panthers bring back four letter winners from a team that finished third in the Class 4A state tournament last year.

Haczkiewicz, who has committed to play at Brigham Young University, is one of the state’s best. She won the 2015 state champion and finished third last season. She also won the Sunset Region title last year, firing a state postseason record 9-under-par 63 at Siena Golf Club.

Haczkiewicz also advanced to the round of 16 in the U.S. Junior Amateur and was a top 20 finisher in the Callaway Junior World tournament.

Oertel finished 14th at last year’s state tournament and was 12th at state in 2015.

“The 2017 edition of Palo Verde girls golf will be led by Annick Haczkiewicz and a veteran group of returning letter winners,” Steffenhagen said.
