GIRLS GOLF: Coronado coasts to Southeast League victory

Victoria Estrada shot a 2-under-par 70 on Wednesday to help Coronado’s girls golf team cruise to victory in a Southeast League match at Anthem Country Club.

Sami Penor shot 71 for the Cougars, who swept the top six places and finished with a team total of 4-over 292.

Coronado’s Ashley Lung was third (75), followed by teammate Gabby DeNunzio (76). Kylie Keyer carded a 79 for the Cougars to round out the top five.

Kat Kares of Green Valley shot 82 as the Gators were second with a 382 total.

Gaels take Southwest match

At Highland Falls, Danielle Oberlander and Hunter Pate finished at 3-over 74 to share medalist honors, and Bishop Gorman won a Southwest League match.

The Gaels shot 314 as a team, well ahead of Clark (417). Cassandra Ho finished with a 77 to lead the Chargers.

Rose Baral of Gorman shot 79 and was fourth, followed by Sierra Vista’s Caroline Valle (85).
