GIRLS GOLF: Hunter Pate pushes Bishop Gorman to Southwest League win

Bishop Gorman swept the top three places and shot 309 on Wednesday to win a Southwest League girls golf match at Angel Park.

Hunter Pate carded a 2-under-par 70 to take medalist honors for the Gaels. Danielle Oberlander was second with a 73, followed by teammate Rose Baral (77).

Clark, which carded a 400, was the only other complete team. Cassandra Ho led the Chargers with a 78.

Caroline Valle of Sierra Vista shot 79 and finished fifth.

Panthers pull out Northwest match

At Aliante, Annick Haczkiewicz shot even-par 72 to lead Palo Verde to victory in a Northwest League match.

The Panthers finished at 31-over 319, just ahead of Centennial (323) and Faith Lutheran (333). Arbor View (402) was fourth, and Cimarron-Memorial (441) was fifth.

Faith Lutheran’s Sydney Smith took second place with a 1-over 73.

Hailey Stevenson carded a 74 for Centennial, followed by Cameron Griffin at 77 for Faith Lutheran, and Jade Magana at 78 for Centennial.
