GIRLS GOLF: Palo Verde upends Bishop Gorman in nine-hole match

Annick Haczkiewicz shot 1-under-par 35 on Tuesday to lead Palo Verde’s girls golf team to a 151-158 victory over Bishop Gorman in a nine-hole match at TPC Las Vegas.

Palo Verde’s Jasmine Jung carded a 37 to take second place, followed by Gorman’s Danielle Oberlander at 38.

Rebecca Oertel shot 39 for Palo Verde to tie with Gorman teammates Rose Baral and Hunter Pate.

Eagles claim Sunrise match

At Mesquite, Lani Potter of Boulder City took medalist honors, and the Eagles took the top two spots on the way to winning a Sunrise League match at CasaBlanca Golf Club.

Boulder City shot 371 to finish ahead of Tech (416) and Chaparral (562).

Potter shot 1-over-par 73 with teammate Madisan Walker second at 92.

Josie Delgadillo of Moapa Valley was third at 93, followed by Tech’s Leanne Moran (94) and Boulder City’s Lauryn Norris (99).

Trojans take Sunset victory

At Aliante, Krista Toomer earned medalist honors with a 16-over 88, and Pahrump Valley placed four golfers in the top five to win a Sunset League match.

Pahrump shot 403, and Mojave was second at 490. Desert Pines (524) was the only other complete team.

Makalea Petrie of Pahrump shot 95 and tied for second with Western’s Carolyn Lemon. Jessica Pearson finished alone in fourth for Pahrump with a 108, and teammate Jordan Egan tied for fifth at 112.

Mojave’s Grecia Cano and Aajah James of Desert Pines also shot 112.
