GIRLS GOLF: Sami Penor shoots 4-under as Coronado rolls

Sami Penor shot 4-under-par 68 Tuesday as the Coronado’s girls golf team rolled to victory in a Southeast League match.

The Cougars had the top six individuals, and shot 2-over-par 290 as a team.

Ashley Lung was second with a 73, followed by teammates Gabby DeNunzio (74), Victoria Estrada (75), Kylie Keyer (76) and Crystle Querol (77).

Green Valley was second as a team with a 373.

Panthers win Northwest match

At Paiute, Palo Verde’s Annick Haczkiewicz shot 5-over 77 to lead the Panthers to a narrow victory in a Northwest League match.

Palo Verde finished at 326, followed by Faith Lutheran (330) and Centennial (332).

Centennial’s Hailey Stevenson shot 72 to earn medalist honors. Faith Lutheran’s Cameron Griffin and Sydney Smith each shot 77 to tie Haczkiewicz for second.

Wildcats take Northeast match

At Stallion Mountain, Las Vegas edged Canyon Springs 540-546 to win a Northeast League match.

Mountain View’s Kristine Horita shot 29-over 101 to earn medalist honors.
